Listed by the British government in 2010 as an entity of potential concern for WMD-related procurement; listed as an entity of concern for occasional military procurement activities in an early warning document distributed by the German government to industry in July 2005; identified by the British government in February 1998 as having procured goods and/or technology for weapons of mass destruction programs, in "addition to doing non-proliferation related business."

Subsidiary of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO) (see separate entity record); consists of six self-run groups, including: the Installation/Erection and Commissioning Group (IECG, or Construction/Erection and Commissioning Group), which constructs oil, gas and petrochemical equipment, power plant equipment, machinery and equipment for factories, bridges and heavy offshore steel structures; the Machining and Assembling Production Group, which produces preheating and heat treatment furnaces from 3 to 60 tons, mobile cranes, slab cooling machines, reduction gear boxes, valves, and mine equipment; the Metallurgy Production Group, which produces carbon steel, low/high alloy, stainless steel, plug and gate valves, various types of steel rollers, heavy foundry parts, and moulds for ingot casting, and is equipped with a 12-ton electric arc furnace, induction furnaces, a vacuum oxygen decarbonization converter (VODC) plant and gas blowing operation; the Steel Structure Production Group, which produces refinery, gas and petrochemical equipment, dam and power plant equipment, steam boilers, and bridges and heavy steel structures; the Technical Services and Supporting Group, and the Training Group.

Manufactures pressure vessels, high pressure valves, heat exchangers, indirect gas heaters, gas filter separators, dry gas filters, odorizers, deodorizers, separator columns, distillation towers, roof storage tanks, desalination plants, industrial chimneys, tower cranes, hydro mechanical equipment, air coolers, industrial furnaces, conveyors, forged pressure flanges, forged steel grinding balls, crushing hammers, and casting parts.

Exports to Pakistan, Syria, Qatar, Libya, Sudan, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, France, Turkmenistan, and Cyprus; a partner of Iran's Farab Co. (see separate entity record); reportedly owns "West Sun" Trade GmbH, an import/export business based in Hamburg, Germany that primarily exports to Iran; according to a commercial directory, Mr. Mohammad Khorampour is the company's legal representative; reported managers, Eng. Naser Pour Mirza (a.k.a. Nasser Pourmirza or Pour Mirza Naser) and Rasoul Bahmani; reported managing director, S. Mohammad Baghr Sobhani (a.k.a.
