Successor to the Nuclear Fuel Production Division (NFPD), the subsidiary company under the AEOI (Atomic Energy Organization of Iran - see separate entity record) that runs research and development in the nuclear fuel cycle, including conversion and enrichment; listed by the European Union on April 24, 2007 as an entity linked to Iran's proliferation-sensitive nuclear activities or Iran's development of nuclear weapon delivery systems; with some exceptions, and within their jurisdiction, European Union member states must freeze all funds and economic resources owned, held or controlled by the listed entity, and must also ensure that funds or economic resources are not made available to or for the benefit of the listed entity; NFPD involved in research and development in the field of the nuclear fuel cycle, including uranium exploration, mining, milling and conversion and nuclear waste management; Jaber Ibn Hayan Research Dept. (see separate entity record), Exploration and Mining Dept., Benefication and Hydrometallurgical Research Center, Nuclear Fuel Research and Production Center (Esfahan), Waste Management Dept., and Saghand Mining Dept. among NFPD departments; Esfahan Nuclear Technology Center (see separate entity record) part of the NFPC; Deputy and Director General is Dr. Hoseyn Faqihian (see separate entity record).
