Listed by the British government in 2007 as an entity of potential concern for WMD-related procurement; identified as an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC - see separate entity record) entity in an annex to U.N. Security Council Resolution 1747 of March 24, 2007, which lists entities of proliferation concern; with some exceptions, the U.N. designation requires states to freeze the financial assets on their territories which are owned or controlled by the entity, by its agents, or by entities it controls; the U.N. designation also requires states to ensure that funds, financial assets or economic resources are prevented from being made available by their nationals or by any persons or entities within their territories, to or for the benefit of the entity; in March 1998, reportedly joined the Aviation Industries Organization (Aeronautics Industries Organization) on the order of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL - see separate entity record); produces unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), parachutes, para-gliders, para-motors and other items, which the IRGC has claimed to use as part of its asymmetric warfare doctrine; reportedly designs, develops and manufactures UAVs for the Iranian armed forces; reportedly developed the Tallash I (Endeavor), the Tallash II Hadaf 3000 (Target 3000), Saeqeh I ("Lightning Bolt") and II, Mohajer II, Mohajer III (Dorna), and the Mohajer IV (Hodhod) UAVs; reportedly also designs and manufactures security systems and surveillance cameras; reportedly shares contact information with the Ghoods Research Center (see separate entity record); reportedly established in 1985. |
