E.U. implements Security Council Resolution 1737
In April 2007, the Council of the European Union agreed to a regulation that not only implements U.N. Security Council Resolution 1737, but goes further by freezing the assets of 23 additional Iranian entities involved in nuclear and missile work. This decision covers outfits like the Aerospace Industries Organization, which oversees the production of Iran’s missiles, as well as a number of subsidiaries of Iran’s Defense Industries Organization and its Atomic Energy Organization. The European Union has also banned travel by a number of Iranian individuals, banned arms sales to and from Iran, and cut off new financial assistance, loans or grants to the Iranian government.
