Conducts nuclear power plant engineering research, survey and design; conducts nuclear power plant design preparation studies, nuclear equipment design preparation studies, and feasibility studies; selects main and auxiliary nuclear equipment, and performs schematic diagraming, research on seismic and dynamic stability of equipment, and research on construction and the dynamic strength of building materials; reportedly was working on a feasibility study for a second reactor at Bushehr in Iran; oversees the State Research, Design and Survey Institute Atomenergoproekt in Moscow, the St. Petersburg Research, Design and Survey Institute Atomenergoproekt, the St. Petersburg Research and Survey Institute Energosurvey, and the Nizhni Novgorod Research, Design and Survey Institute Atomenergoproekt.
