Established with the approval of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) in 1993; development of remote sensing and uranium prospecting technologies; use of spectrometers for detecting uranium and thorium and their content; conducted research on uranium resources assessment, stability of nuclear waste treatment facilities, satellite radiation calibration, processing and utilization of high-spectral resolution and satellite-borne radar data, integration of technology for optical and energy spectra, and three-dimensional computer simulations of uranium mines formation; has trained remote sensing personnel for Iran, Korea, Libya, and Pakistan.
