Sanctioned (with all successors, sub-units, or subsidiaries) by the United States on April 17, 2007, under the Iran and Syria Nonproliferation Act, which provides for penalties against foreign persons for the transfer to or acquisition from Iran since January 1, 1999, or the transfer to or acquisition from Syria since January 1, 2005, of equipment and technology controlled under multilateral export control lists or otherwise having the potential to make a material contribution to the development of weapons of mass destruction or cruise or ballistic missile systems; the sanctions apply for two years as follows: U.S. government barred from procuring from, contracting with, or providing assistance to the entity, U.S. government sales to the entity of any item on the United States Munitions List prohibited, sales to the entity of any defense articles, defense services, or design and construction services under the U.S. Arms Export Control Act terminated, no new individual licenses granted for the transfer to the entity of items the export of which is controlled under the U.S. Export Administration Act of 1979 or the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, and any existing such licenses suspended; added to the Specially Designated National (SDN) list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on June 13, 2006, freezing its assets under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibiting transactions with U.S. parties, pursuant to Executive Order 13382, which targets proliferators of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their delivery systems; according to the Treasury Department, sold goods controlled under the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) to the Shahid Bakeri Industrial Group (SBIG), an entity "involved in Iran's missile programs," during the two years prior to the designation; listed as an entity of concern for arms proliferation in an early warning document distributed by the German government to industry in July 2005; sanctioned (with all successors, sub-units, or subsidiaries) by the United States on April 1, 2004 under the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, for transferring to Iran equipment and/or technology of proliferation significance since January 1, 1999; sanctioned by the United States in June 2003 for engaging in proliferation activities with Iran; sanctioned by the United States in May 2002 for engaging in proliferation activities with Iran; markets M-family missiles, liquid and solid rocket motors, precision machinery, optical equipment, radars, and reportedly a variety of surface-to-surface, shipborne, anti-ship, and tactical missiles; supplied C-801 (Ying Ji-1, YJ-1 or Sardine) and C-802 (Ying Ji-2, YJ-2 or Saccade) anti-ship cruise missiles to Iran; established in 1980.
