In 2002, reportedly provided financial help for the purchase of 44 high-voltage switches that can be used to trigger a nuclear explosion from a German company, Behlke Electronic GmbH; according to German customs investigators, the switches were destined for Tehran; reportedly the brother of Eddie Johansson, a Swede of Iranian origin who allegedly arranged the purchase of the switches in November 2002.

U.N.-EU Sanctions Tally

United Nations and European Union sanctions targeting Iran's military and missile programs remain in place until 2020 and 2023, respectively. The sanctions target firms and individuals involved in these programs, including entities connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC). A smaller number – less than 100 – remain designated by the United Nations.
