Charged on December 5, 2012 for exporting U.S.-origin military items to Iran in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA); beginning in 2011, exported and attempted to export components for helicopters with military applications; arranged for the export and attempted export of the items from New York to South Korea, with an ultimate destination of Iran; arrested, on October 5, 2012, upon arrival in the United States at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate the IEEPA; sentenced on November 15, 2013 to 46 months in prison; an Iranian citizen; 40 years old as of December 2012.
