A brigadier general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) involved in Iran's operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs); commander of the UAV Command of the IRGC Aerospace Force (IRGCASF).

Directs planning, equipment, and training for the UAV operations of the IRGCASF; according to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, was responsible for a UAV attack on the civilian ship Mercer Street in July 2021 and a UAV attack on an oil refinery in Saudi Arabia in September 2019.

Oversees Iran's supply of drones to Russia and other allies of Iran, according to the European Union.

Listed by the European Union on October 20, 2022 as an entity responsible for actions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine; with limited exceptions, EU member states must freeze assets owned or controlled by the entity, directly or indirectly, and prevent assets from being made available to it.

Added on October 29, 2021, to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list maintained by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), blocking the person's assets under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibiting transactions with U.S. parties, pursuant to Executive Order 13224, which targets terrorists and those providing support to terrorists or acts of terrorism; also subject to the Iranian Financial Sanctions Regulations; foreign parties facilitating transactions for the person or otherwise assisting the person are subject to U.S. sanctions.

Sanctioned by the governments of Canada and the United Kingdom, restricting business and/or financial transactions with the entity and/or freezing its assets in those countries.
