"Canada fully supports the Presidential Statement issued today by the UNSC, which expresses the international community's ongoing and serious concerns about Iran's nuclear activities, and which calls on Iran to immediately re-establish the full, sustained and verifiable suspension of all nuclear enrichment and reprocessing activities and to fully cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)."

"It is important for Iran to take these steps in order to restore international confidence in the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities and fulfill its nuclear non-proliferation obligations. Canada urges Iran to heed the calls of the UNSC and the IAEA without delay and to pursue diplomatic negotiations towards a durable solution."

"We believe the UNSC has an important role to play in view of the broader implications of the Iran nuclear issue. Canada welcomes the UNSC's involvement in this serious issue, as well as its efforts to reinforce the authority of the IAEA and the prospect of a long-term diplomatic solution, which Canada fully supports."
