Presidential Spokesperson: Egypt calls for Dialogue on the Iranian Nuclear Crisis

Presidential Spokesman Suliman Awwad stressed the fact that President Mubarak is anxious over the Iranian nuclear crisis due to its impact on the national security of the Gulf area.

Awwad added that Egypt calls for maintaining political dialogue to reach a reasonable compromise for all parties.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul-Gheit received on Sunday May 7th head of the Iranian Interests Section in Cairo Mohamed Reza Shibani at the end of his term .

A Foreign Ministry press release said they discussed cooperation between Egypt and Iran and pressing regional issues.

They also probed the overall situation in the Middle East, challenges to the region and promoting international efforts towards peace, security and stability at the regional and international levels.
