Q - I have here a wire-service dispatch stating that there was a meeting last Thursday between high officials from France, Germany, Great Britain and Iran, and that during their meeting, Teheran demanded that Paris, Berlin and London support its right to obtain nuclear technology. Do you have any comment on this?

As you know, France, Germany and England have been engaged in a dialogue with Iran about its nuclear program for several months now. This dialogue is being pursued in support of the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.

In this context, the three European nations received an Iranian delegation in Paris on July 29. At that meeting, they insisted that Iran must fully suspend its enrichment and reprocessing activities, as it had pledged, with IAEA verification.
