I would like to read the statement made by the foreign minister on Saturday, September 24, 2005:

"I welcome the very clear majority in Vienna this afternoon in favor of the resolution supported by the European Union countries.

This resolution signals the international community's concern at the finding that Iran has failed to comply with the non-proliferation regime.

At the same time, the text leaves open the possibility of negotiations which must immediately be taken advantage of in order to put forward proposals capable of restoring confidence. For its part, France remains committed to pursuing all the avenues of dialogue so as to reach a satisfactory solution."
