ElBaradei Discusses Expansion of Ties Between Iran, IAEA

Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei, after meeting with Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO) Reza Aqazadeh here on Friday evening, said they have talk about expansion of ties between Iran and IAEA.

ElBaradei told reporters, "We discussed Iran's present and past nuclear activity and also relations between Iran, IAEA and the world community, including UN Security Council."
"We made good progress in our negotiation, IAEA chief pointed out."
He added, "We discussed Iran's activity to prepare the final report in March."
ElBaradei went on to say, "In our talk with Mr. Aqazadeh we asked for more transparency so we can give necessary guarantees to Iran." "If we can make Iran's current and past activities transparent, we can prepare the ground for Iran's future activity," the official said.

ElBaradei noted that he had discussed the confrontation between Iran and the UNSC and ways of solving the issue as well as ways to negotiate with the UNSC not only concerning nuclear issue, but on other issues.

The visiting official continued, "I will have meetings with Iranian officials tomorrow to find solutions for Iran's nuclear issue to turn the problem into a normal issue."
My meetings with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Ahmadinejad will accelerate the activities, ElBaradei said about the outcome of his negotiation.

He said the current atmosphere about Iran's nuclear issue is positive and such atmosphere will have a positive effect on the total trend in the Middle East.
