Dr. Assefi: The Europeans Have a Respite Until August 1, 2005 to Propose Their Plan

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Dr Hamidreza Assefi, on Tuesday said: The grace period given to the Europeans to propose their plan to Iran, has not been expired and they have the respite until August 1, 2005 to offer the said plan.

He was making the remarks while talking to reporters in Majlis (Iranian parliament).

Dr Assefi referred to the recent visit of Iran`s parliamentary delegation to Belgium and stipulated: The visit took place in relation to nuclear issue, and the delegation explained Iran`s positions for the European side.

Iranian Majlis speaker, Dr Haddad Adel said in Belgium that the Europe`s plan on Iran`s nuclear dossier should comprise uranium enrichment, and they said they were working out a plan to be offered to the Iranian side, he added.

He further said: If Iran`s rights for uranium enrichment are not recognized, we will not accept the Europeans` plan.

In response to a question as to what devices have been taken into consideration, in case the Europeans do not accept uranium enrichment, Dr Assefi said: the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran should decide on this issue.
