Dr Kharrazi pointed out "both sides should be serious in their economic and political cooperation, otherwise Iran may not be interested to make effort in this direction." Dialogue between the two sides should be conducted through a stable and serious process, otherwise it will be halted or suspended under certain pretexts, he said, adding, we are not interested in such sort of dialogue.

Elsewhere in his remarks Dr Kharrazii said that he had informed Prodi of "very good" cooperation on the part of three countries of Germany, Britain and France. He called on the member states of the European Union to fulfil their commitments in the context of nuclear cooperation with Iran, as Iran acts according to its commitments to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This is a trilateral project among Iran, IAEA and the EU.

It will be a success for all the sides, in case the project becomes successful, and it will be a failure to all , should the project be a failure, he stressed. Touching upon the Iraqi issue, Dr kharrazi said "The situation in Iraq is proceeding towards a dangerous condition, due to wrong policies of the US." At his meeting with Prodi, Dr Kharrazi pointed out that torture of Iraqis by the American forces is a shameless act. He stipulated "by doing this action how the US claims that it has gone to Iraq to promote democracy." This is outrageous. The US actions have created hatred throughout the Islamic world. Killings in Iraq should be stopped and that`s why the power in Iraq should be transferred to people and occupiers should leave the country.
