Visiting Iranian foreign minister, Dr Kamal Kharrazi, on Thursday in London, met and conferred with his British counterpart, Jack Straw.
The talks between the two sides were centered on bilateral relations, Iraqi crisis and Iran`s peaceful nuclear activities.
At the meeting, Dr Kharrazi emphasized on Iran`s legitimate right for peaceful use of nuclear technology and said: What has already been started between Iran on one side and Europe and the International Atomic Energy Agency( IAEA) on the other, is a joint project that its success is in fact the success of Iran and Europe.
On one program, we have reached agreement with IAEA chief, Mr el-Baradei and we have acted accordingly, and we expect the European sides to be committed in their actions like Iran.
Expressing regret over the current crisis in Iraq and pointing out the inefficiency of the US policy towards this issue, Dr Kharrazi said that the important question is how to transfer power in Iraq.
Transfer of power should be accomplished in such a way that the views of religious and political leaders of Iraq would be heeded, so that the authorities of the future transitional government could enjoy a legitimate status.
Dr Kharrazi cautioned the occupying forces of devising plans which are spontaneuos and inconsistent with the will of the people and the realities in that country.
