Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi met his Belgian counterpart Louis Michel in Brussels late Monday evening.
Talks between the two ministers covered the situation in Iraq, the middle east, bilateral ties and the EU-Iran relations.
The two ministers described Belgian-Iranian ties as `excellent` and voiced determination to expand bilateral relations.
Kharrazi briefed Michel on developments in the region and underlined that the only way to get out of the ongoing crisis in Iraq is speedy handover of power to Iraqis and the withdrawal of foreign occupation troops from there.
On his part, Michel underlined Iran`s role for regional security and stability including in Iraq and Afghanistan.
