Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Dr Hamidreza Assefi, on Monday, in response to a question raised by IRNA reporter as regards the ability of the Islamic Republic of Iran to produce nuclear fuel, and whether Iran presently is in possession of this kind of fuel, said: As a matter of fact, what has so far been spoken about in this regard, is that presently the Islamic Republic of Iran possesses the technology for producing nuclear fuel, and therefore potentially has the capability to produce this item; but no Action has been taken in this regard.

Dr Assefi further said: The Islamic Republic of Iran is among the countries which possesses the technology for peaceful use of nuclear energy, and whenever it produces nuclear fuel, conforming to international regulations, it can put into effect its potentiality in this regard, and offer its products to consumers.
