Minister Frattini has expressed full satisfaction with the unanimous adoption by the IAEA Council of Governors of the resolution on the Iranian nuclear programme. The text lays the foundations for Iran's fruitful cooperation with the Atomic Agency of Vienna aimed at dispelling once and for all the doubts about the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear programme.
Frattini added that Italy had participated in the negotiations on the latest resolution for the purpose of reaching the unanimous acceptance of the Member Countries of the Governors Council, so as to signal the compactness of the regional groups that make it up.
Equally important, the Foreign Minister continued, has been Italy fostering of a result that encouraged Iran "one of our country's traditional interlocutors and an essential actor in the region" to undertake a cooperative approach with the Agency of Vienna.
