Iran must stop "using these delay tactics"; the international community "cannot not accept this wasting of time when it comes to nuclear talks". This was Minister Franco Frattini's comment during a press conference at the foreign ministry in Rome with Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze, underscoring that "what is needed is a serious negotiation but thus far we haven't had an answer and this has the international community worried". Frattini explained that "we cannot keep chasing after an Iran whose statements continue to change. I was in Munich and heard Iranian Foreign Minister Mottaki's opening speech, and I was in Rome yesterday when the Iranian president announced the intention to enrich uranium by 20%"

According to Frattini Iran "must be judged on its actions, statements are not enough. We do not want an Iran with an atomic bomb; they have the right to the civilian use of nuclear power but we can no longer accept this tendency to waste time".
