Report by Senator Lautenberg on Iran and Halliburton

February 1, 2005

Report by Senator Lautenberg investigating potential criminal violations by Halliburton of sanctions imposed by the U.S. on Iran. The foreign subsidiary of Halliburton, named  “Halliburton Products & Services Limited” conducted business with the Iranian government and its national oil company during a time that U.S. sanctions prohibited American companies from doing business with Iran. However, Halliburton abused a loophole that allows foreign subsidiaries of a U.S. company to conduct business with terror-sponsoring states. The report documents the transgressions of Halliburton and offers reason to shut down the “Business with Terrorist Lopehole”.
