After the fires aboard two vessels at Damietta Port on 29 July 2026 were brought under control, and following preliminary investigations by the competent authorities into the incident, it has been determined that it was caused by a drone. No party has claimed responsibility for the incident. The competent authorities continue to complete their investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident and to take the necessary measures to safeguard Egypt's interests and national security.
