We have taken note of the statement issued on July 3 by High Representative Josep Borrell, in his capacity as coordinator of the JCPOA, referring to a letter from the Iranian foreign minister regarding the implementation of the agreement.

Together with Germany and the United Kingdom, we remain determined to preserve the JCPOA. We have fully implemented our commitments under this agreement and have even gone further in order to support legitimate trade with Iran.

We triggered the agreement’s Dispute Resolution Mechanism on January 14 in order to find, within the framework of the JCPOA, a solution to the numerous nuclear measures undertaken by Iran since 2019 in violation of its commitments. Iran must immediately return to full compliance with its commitments under the JCPOA.

We have initiated dialogue with Iran and the other participants in the JCPOA, based on a substantive and realistic approach. We stand ready to continue our efforts to preserve the agreement. Iran must urgently respond to these efforts in a constructive manner.
