President Hollande had a meeting with Mr Rouhani, President of Iran, in New York. A year after their first meeting, they reviewed the status of negotiations on Iran's nuclear capability.

President Hollande expressed his wish to see the negotiations conclude swiftly. He reiterated France's position: Iran must implement concrete measures that unequivocally and verifiably demonstrate that it will not acquire a military nuclear capability.

The two Presidents also discussed the situation in Iraq, Syria and the region, and exchanged views on how to combat terrorism.

They examined the prospects for bilateral cooperation which will open up as soon as trust is re-established by means of a definitive agreement on the nuclear issue.
