Q : What’s your reaction to Iranian President Hassan Rowhani’s first statements on the nuclear issue, notably his opposition to any suspension of the uranium enrichment program, and yet his acceptance of greater transparency?
Russia is calling on the Western world to ease the sanctions against Iran. What’s your view of that?
A : As you know, France took note of the election of Hassan Rowhani, with whom we are ready to work.
France remains determined, together with its partners in the E3+3 group, to find a long-term diplomatic solution.
We are waiting for Iran to make concrete gestures in order to establish trust, with a view toward fully implementing the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council and the IAEA.
