The domestically-built long-range surface-to-air missile system Bavar-373 was unveiled at Dr Hassan Rouhani’s order, as the most advanced and unique defence system in the country.
At the unveiling ceremony, which was held on Thursday morning at the ceremony for National Defence Industry Day, Dr Rouhani ordered the unveiling of the defence system.
The President also paid tribute to martyrs and reviewed the honour guards and then visited the exhibition for achievements and capabilities held by the Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces’ Logistics.
Dr Rouhani also visited various parts of the domestically-built Bavar-373 Air Defence System, including launcher, detection radar, tracking radar, Sayyad-4 missile, and the Command and Control Centre, and was briefed by the Minister of Defence and Armed Forces’ logistics and defence industry specialists on the development process of the system and its functionality.
High-speed operation, ease of preparation and maintenance, minimal accessory equipment, high shelf life and operator safety, compliance with world-class technology and the capability of replacement and supply of spare parts and more, are the significant features of Bavar-373 Air Defence System.
The operational capability of this system has been optimally enhanced by utilising techniques and secure protocols between radars, targets and missiles, as well as the use of a state-of-the-art radio detector.
The system can simultaneously detect 300 targets, track 60 targets, and engage with 6 targets at the same time.
