Congratulating the achievements of young specialists of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the launch of "Noor" satellite into space, the President said that this achievement was doubly valuable at the times when people are concerned about coronavirus".
Speaking with the Commander-in-Chief of the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution Major General Hossein Salami on Friday, Dr Hassan Rouhani congratulated the successful launch of "Noor" defence satellite into space, and called it a valuable national success, asking him to thank and appreciate the IRGC aerospace personnel and all space specialists in the Revolutionary Guards on his behalf.
Appreciating the effective cooperation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, especially the Basij in the fight against coronavirus in the country, including providing health services in the screening plan and providing medical and treatment facilities for the treatment of patients, the President said, "Fortunately, solidarity, unity and cohesion among all forces was very good in the country in fighting coronavirus".
Dr Rouhani said that the unity and cohesion of all forces in the fight against coronavirus has made people calm in these difficult conditions and we should try to use this atmosphere to achieve success in other areas, adding, "The all-out attempts without any tensions among all forces demonstrate the system's ability and effectiveness in countering the virus that has engulfed the world".
Referring to some provocative actions of foreigners in the region and the need to maintain vigilance against these movements, the President said, "The strength, power and defensive readiness of the country's armed forces, especially the Revolutionary Guards, within the framework of maintaining stability and security and fighting terrorism in the region has been welcomed by freedom-seekers around the world".
In this conversation, Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami thanked the President's acknowledgement for the success of the IRGC in launching Noor satellite, and expressed hope that by continuing this process in the future, we will see more achievements and successes in the country's defence.
He said, "From the beginning of the outbreak of coronavirus, the IRGC mobilised all its capacity to fight the disease in the country, and it will continue to serve the people and all organs that provide services to the people until the disease is completely eliminated".
Emphasising that we need unity and integrity more than ever in the country, Maj. Gen. Salami said, "The Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution is always fully prepared to confront the enemies' greed, fight terrorism and ensure stability and lasting security in the region".
