Q: Has the U.S. convinced Russia the action should be taken at the UN against Iran?
A: We only heard some vague talk about some action. We are not experts, we have the Sanction Committee which is entitled to pass the judgments.
Q: Any independent panel of experts, Ambassador? Actions should be taken based on the panel of experts finding that Iran is not in compliance with the Yemen arms embargo?
A: Is it a conclusive evidence now? Do you know more than I do?
Q: No, that’s what I’m asking what do you think if the evidence is real?
A: Iran is vehemently denying that it is supplying anything to Yemen. Everyone knows Yemen hosts a pile of weapons from the old days. I cannot give you anything conclusive, I am not an expert.
Q.: So does Russia think there is enough evidence to take action?
A.: Which action?
Q.: Well, Nikki Haley has spoken about possibly a new resolution, more sanctions on Iran.
A.: We have to understand what she is talking about first. Because, as I said, we heard vague talk about it, nothing definite. Here is something we need to see. How we can pass judgments prematurely, before we know what it is about.
Q.: At this moment Russia does not think there is a case against Iran at the UN?
A.: No.
