Aiming to ensure the exclusively peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme and fulfillment of its international commitments, the Security Council has to date adopted four resolutions imposing binding measures : resolutions 1737 (2006), 1747 (2007), 1803 (2008) and 1929 (2010). Article 25 of the UN Charter obligates Member States to 
accept and carry out the decisions of the Security Council, which  includes the binding decisions contained in these resolutions.
