The United Kingdom supports the statement made by the distinguished representative of Italy on behalf of the European Union. Successful and speedy resolution of this issue is crucial to the IAEA and the international safeguards regime, and to the cause of preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. We have therefore decided to set out 
our own concerns, in detail, in a national statement.
