In order to keep its nuclear project secret and to expedite obtaining nuclear weapons, many of its sites have been put under supervision of military organs and many of its nuclear experts have been transferred to these organs. The project to achieve nuclear weapons and involvement of military organs is pursued under the supervision of Ali Khamenei, the mullahs' supreme leader.
There are 400 experts and researchers who function in these military organs to obtain nuclear weapons. They function outside the framework of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization to obtain nuclear weapons. These experts are extremely cautious about secrecy of their work. A number of them function under the guise of university professors.
The Revolutionary Guards, the Ministry of Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff in laboratories and modern workshops in military organs are involved in this project. Many of laboratories and workshops of these military organs are under their supervision while maintaining absolute secrecy. Some of these military organs are as the following:
A. Center for Readiness and New Defense Technology. This center is affiliated to Ministry of Defense. It is located in Tehran-Lavizan, Hosseinabad, Mojdeh Street. It is headed by Dr. Ferydoon Abbasi who is Director of Nuclear Research of Ministry of Defense, which follows the affairs regarding nuclear weapons. Center for Readiness and New Defense Technology is affiliated to the Institution for Training and Research of Ministry of Defense, which is under the supervision of Revolutionary Guards' Brigadier General Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini Tash. This institution has been transferred out of the main building of the Ministry of Defense. This institution is located in Tehran, Nobonyad Square, across a petrol station.
B. Nuclear Research in Revolutionary Guards' Imam Hossein University: The nuclear research is conducted under command of Revolutionary Guards' Brigadier General Fazaeli.
C. The headquarters of modern warfare: This is under the supervision of Joint Chiefs of Staff. One of their areas of research is obtaining nuclear and chemical weapons.
D. The Special Industries Section of Defense Industries Organizations: This center is active in efforts to obtain technology for production of nuclear weapons.
These organs use the best human resources and utilize scientific achievements of Atomic Energy Organization but their research is separate from the research of Atomic Energy Organization. The budget for nuclear activities in military organs is top secret and within the secret budget of Supreme National Security Council. The individual in charge of the nuclear budget of military organs in Khamenei's Office is Revolutionary Guards' Brigadier General, Izadi.
- It is worth noting that P2 Centrifuges were not and are not under the control of Iranian regime's Atomic Energy Organization. These advanced machines are under the control of this special organ for the purpose of research for obtaining nuclear weapons. (The first indications of the existence of P2 Centrifuges were found in Lavizan.)
Some of scientists and nuclear experts who work in military organs are as the following:
Dr. Ferydoon Abassi, the Director of Center for Readiness and New Defense Technology, affiliated with the Ministry of Defense. He is a member of the Revolutionary Guards. He also teaches in the Revolutionary Guards' Imam Hossein University and is the deputy director of Iran's Nuclear Association. (Iran's nuclear experts function under this association.) He is currently working on nuclear projects of the Ministry of Defense. Most of P2 research is done under his supervision.)
Dr. Ali Pazirandeh: He cooperates with Special Industries of Defense Industries Organization. He is also professor of nuclear physics in Tehran University. He is considered one of the top scientists of Iran's nuclear scientists.
Dr. Mohammadi, nuclear expert (expert in manufacturing and assembling centrifuges in Natanz). He is one of the senior officials of Defense Industries Organization. He is currently based in nuclear research center of Isfahan.
Dr. Nasser Sharif-lou, the Director of Bushehr reactor: He has close liaison with the Defense Ministry.
Dr. Mohahammad Baqer Ghaferani, the Professor of Sharif Technological University in Tehran. He is one of the former officials of Atomic Energy Organization. He is one of the scientists who are active in the Revolutionary Guards and other military organs in the area of research to obtain nuclear weapons. He is an expert on enrichment.
Dr. Ali Mohammadi, Professor of Physics at Tehran University. He is an expert on theoretical physics and is in close cooperation with the Revolutionary Guards and Imam Hossein University of the Guards.
Dr. Hamid Reza Moshfegh, an expert in the field of theoretical nuclear physics. He is Professor of Tehran University. He cooperates with Defense Industries and the Jihad (Construction Crusade.)
Tehran's current policy vis-Ã -vis obtaining nuclear weapons
Subsequent to recent revelations, the issue of international pressures against mullahs' quest to obtain nuclear weapons was reviewed under Khamenei's personal supervision in several sessions in recent months.
The outcome of the review, which serves as a directive to relevant agencies, is as follows:
The world would soon be divided into two poles, "members of the nuclear club and those without nuclear capability. Those with nuclear weapons would be the masters of world and others would be enslaved. Membership in this club would end in 10 years. The Islamic Republic, therefore, should impose itself on this global club as soon as possible."
Iran has nothing short of being among the masters. It possesses oil, gas, etc. It only lacks nuclear weapons in order to join the nuclear club.
The window of opportunity to join the nuclear club will close in 10 years. Thus the regime should act as expeditiously as possible to obtain nuclear weapons.
Under the current circumstances "Europe is focusing on convincing Iran to stop its nuclear weapons program. Because of its problems in Iraq, the United States has no choice but to go soft on Iran.
Since there is no resolve to refer the Islamic Republic's file to the United Nations Security Council, this opportunity must therefore be used to produce a nuclear bomb.
It is necessary that "the Islamic Republic continue the manufacture of a nuclear bomb. To the extent that's possible, this effort must move forward secretly and by looking cooperative to the rest of the world. Nonetheless, the tensions must be accepted so as not to be enslaved.
If some risks and tensions are accepted, Iran would be able to finalize the project [to make a nuclear bomb] between one to two years.
Given the fact that Bushehr Plant will be in productive stage in about another year, it would provide an opportunity for the production of enriched uranium on a mass scale. Under the cover of its peaceful purposes and activities, one could produce enriched Uranium of higher grades for weapons purposes secretly.
These reports once again proves the fact that the clerical regime has no intention of giving up their secret nuclear program and is only trying to buy time with deception and political maneuvering in order to obtain the nuclear weapon.
The mullahs' regime has exploited the western countries' appeasing policy to the maximum in its drive to acquire nuclear weapons, the same as its extensive involvement in Iraqi affairs.
The reality is that the mullahs want to obtain nuclear weapons to realize their policy of export of terrorism and Islamic fundamentalism to its utmost and guarantee the survival of the regime that is challenged by intensifying internal crisis and mounting social unrest.
The policy of appeasement and dialogue with this regime has proven to be a complete failure and has not prevented the mullahs from exporting fundamentalism and their drive to acquire weapons of mass destruction. The only way to deal with this regime is firmness and referring its nuclear file to the UN Security Council.
By the same token, the Iranian People's resistance against religious terrorist dictatorship is the only way to confront expansion of export of terrorism and fundamentalism by this regime. This is the point that was reiterated by 120 members of European Parliament yesterday in expressing their support for the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
