President Masoud Pezeshkian strongly condemned the United States' attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, saying the aggression shows that the US is the main driving force behind the Zionist regime’s hostile actions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The president made the remarks at a cabinet session on Sunday, hours after the US bombed the Iranian nuclear sites of Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. The US launched the attacks as the Zionist regime’s aggression on Iran entered its tenth day.
Although the US initially tried to conceal its involvement in the Zionist regime's hostile actions, it was ultimately forced to join in amid the regime’s obvious weakness in the face of the decisive and deterrent response by the Iranian Armed Forces, Pezeshkian said.
He also said that the attacks, which the Armed Forces carried out against targets in the occupied territories on Sunday morning and following the US strikes on the nuclear sites, were in fact a response to Washington’s aggressive policies. That is because the Zionist regime lacks the capability to dare attack Iran independently, he added.
The recent events have revealed that how hollow concepts like democracy, human rights, and international law have become in today’s world, said Pezeshkian.
He added that in such a global landscape, the only way to safeguard the independence, dignity, and security of a nation is through real power whose first and most vital source is internal unity and cohesion.
The next is unwavering support for elites, intellectuals, economic players, and people from different walks of life, the president noted, adding that Iran’s adversaries fear the awareness, unity, and capabilities of the Iranian people. "If we preserve this invaluable asset, we will undoubtedly succeed," Pezeshkian further said.
The president also expressed gratitude to executive bodies for their relentless efforts to render services to people without any disruption at this sensitive time.
Pezeshkian emphasized the need for delegating authority to ministers, governors, and managers so that they can handle the country’s affairs with a free hand and with greater efficiency and creativity.
