Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Dr Hamidreza Assefi, on Wednesday termed the request by different European authorities for suspension of Isfahan's Uranium Conversion Facility (UCF) as illogical and arrogant.
Emphasizing that Iran`s action had been done in a completely legal framework, Dr Assefi said: The Europe has been engaged in miscalculation, because commitment of the Islamic Republic of Iran to negotiations has never meant foregoing the legitimate right of Iranian nation for making peaceful use of nuclear energy.
He pointed out: resumption of activity of Isfahan` s site is a step towards safeguarding the indisputable rights of the Iranian people, and pressure and threatening cannot make us to sell off the people` s right.
He added: The Europeans have raised hue and cry following Iran`s negative answer to their illogical proposals. They chant the slogan of confidence building, while they have not taken any measure towards confidence building. He further said: The Europe has interpreted Paris Agreement in its own interest.
It should fulfill its undertakings instead of extravagation and raising hue and cry, he went on to say. Dr Assefi described the recent remarks made by some European authorities on Iran`s nuclear dossier as ` undiplomatic and rude` , and said: Such remarks are considered as intervention in the internal affairs of Iran, and thus are unacceptable.
He stipulated: The Islamic Republic of Iran has had constructive and positive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the more the time passes by, the more it becomes clear that Iran`s nuclear programs and activities are peaceful, transparent and without any deviation from the international regulations, and therefore our seriousness and persistence for gaining our favorable result is very natural and proper.
