The end of Iran's Presidential Election and the election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the new IRI president did not faced an appropriate and friendly responses from America and some European countries.
In some cases, some of those countries even indirectly denounced Iran's presidential election and accused the Iranian officials of election fraud in the run off round on June 24th.
In other cases, they practically and out of animosity accused the IRI President-Elect of certain "undiplomatic acts." An obvious example is the request made by Austrian Green Party member and spokesman Peter Plitz for the issuance of an arrest warrant against Iran's President-Elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his alleged involvement in anti-Iran Kurdish leader Abdur-Rahman Qasemlou on July 13th, 1989 in Vienna.
Some such Western propagation against Iran and Mr. Ahmadinejad are of a sort that prove they are a phase in a precisely pre-planned campaign.
Seeing and revealing the united States' and its allies' real intentions in launching their anti-Iran propagation campaign in this particular time juncture may not be a tough task, but the more important issue under the current sensitive conditions is analyzing their form and categorizing their contents.
What is for sure is that such anti-Iranian and anti-President elect psychological war and propagation would never reach an actual operation phase, since that would neither be in line with those countries' national interests, nor harmonious with the macro scale interests of the international community, that favors expansion of peace and friendship around the globe.
The questions to be answered, are therefore, "Why have such attacks been intensified recently? Had the ground not been paved for launching them earlier? Has merely Ahmadinejad's placement at the top of Iran's executive force led to the emergence of such issues, or are there other factors involved in the matter as well?" In order to answer such questions and understand the main objectives of the United States and its allies in launching this campaign we first need to take a glance at some viewpoints about the issue: The first viewpoint's supporters believe the West has launched its negative propagation campaign against Iran's President-Elect to create a general negative personality of him in world public opinion even before he begins his work as the IRI President.
We cannot rely on that viewpoint too certainly, since the personality of a president that has been elected with 18 million votes in a country cannot be ruined abroad relying on such phony propagation.
The public opinion of both those who have voted for Ahmadinejad and those who have not voted for him, but accepted the fact that he is the president of the whole Iranian nation, do not seem to be affected by such propaganda, and the recent Western anti-Iran campaign, too, does not seem to be planned to meet that end.
Another current viewpoint is that the West has lost hope in solving the issues over which it has serious difference of opinion with Iran.
According to the supporters of that viewpoint issues such as Iran's nuclear dossier, human rights, terrorism, and the Middle East peace would become even more complicated with the election of Ahmadinejad as the IRI President and therefore the West is trying to pave the path for it s future moves by increasing pressure on Iran in advance.
It seems like the supporters of this theory have summed up all issues related to Iran and judged the West's approach based on that total sum.
But if we consider the West as a whole, that is the European countries, Japan and the United States, we would still not be able to definitely claim that they think quite harmoniously over all international issues, or that they have the quite same priorities.
To make a long story short, any of those issues, such as Iran's nuclear dossier, terrorism, or the Middle East peace, have different meanings for each western country, and besides, the West would never intensify its moves against Iran regardless of China and Russia's interests, and of course its own macro interests.
Convincing the public opinion of the in the United States might be possible to some extent, but convincing the Germans, the French, the Russians, and the Chinese, considering all close economic, political, and cultural ties they have with Tehran seems too far an objective for Washington." Therefore, this latter viewpoint, too, provides no logical explanation for new round of the US-lead anti-Iran campaign.
The foundations of none of the above mentioned viewpoints on West's intentions are strong enough to fully elaborate this latest US-lead campaign, since Iran has been subject to similar psychological wars throughout the course of at least past two years and well endured their effects.
It seems therefore, like the West's propagation campaign under the current conditions is some other issue, whose dimensions we would discuss in this article's remaining lines.
1) THE MAIN AND MACRO-SCALE US OBJECTIVE (RELATED TO EXISTENCE OF IRI) The West's pressure, that is exerted by the United States today, on behalf of the EU and Japan, is focused on Iran's nuclear dossier.
Iran's negotiations with EU3, despite all its ups and downs so far, have not been satisfactory and ideal for the Americans. All the same, Washington had yielded to their process prior to the election of Ahmadinejad.
What the Europeans expected Iran was always faced with Tehran's full cooperation and the last round of talks ended with the EU's new proposal and the Iranian side's full consent.
Beyond doubt, reaching satisfactory results for both Iran and EU would neither please the Americans, nor the Israelis. Therefore, election of Ahmadinejad provided an excuse for the Americans to pave the ground for exerting greater international pressure against Iran, aimed at altering Tehran's political behavior.
Taking advantage of some Western countries as Austria and opening old dossiers on accusations that are decades old, in addition to imposing pressure on Europeans to boycott talks with Iran's new government in future nuclear talks can somehow clarify the West's and particularly the United States' intentions in this campaign.
2) SECONDARY OBJECTIVES (RELATED TO PRESIDENT-ELECT HIMSELF) When it became clear that accusation on hostage taking would not work, the scenario on Ahmadinejad's presence in assassination of Qasemlou, that is a baseless as the former accusation emerged.
This new plot was aimed at weakening the position of IRI president on his future foreign relations.
A president is the symbol of his nation at the international scenes and if he would not succeed in strengthening his country's ties with other nations his country and nation would be secluded and crisis-stricken in the world.
If that objective is achieved, the West would succeed in weakening the whole system's legitimacy in next phase.
Despite all such propagation President-Elect Ahmadinejad has considered the anger of the foreign enemies easy to understand, and said, "Wherever the nation's power emerges victorious, the people prove their presence at the scene, genuine democracy shows its brilliant face, and the fruits of the Islamic Revolution begin to ripen, this nation's enemies express their anger." Considering creating obstacles in the path of the "Servant Government" and the progress of the nation towards advancement and well being as "a defeated approach", Ahmadinejad has said, "Relying on God's grace, and the support of the whole nation and those whose hearts beat for Iran and Islam, this government would be at the service of the nation and in pursuit of justice.
"We would fill the atmosphere of Iran with the good fragrance of truly serving this nation, by God's grace."
