Prepared Testimony by Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State Jeffrey Feltman and Patricia McNerney Before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Subcommittee Hearing: Addressing Iran's Nuclear Ambitions

April 24, 2008

Weapon Program:

  • Nuclear

Iran presents a profound threat to U.S. national security interests.  The radical regime in Theran threatens regional and international security through its pursuit of technologies that could give it the capability to produce nuclear weapons, its support for terrorist groups and militants in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, and the Palestinian terrotories, its destabilizing regional activities, and its lack of respect for human rights and civil society.
