Charged on November 15, 2012 in the Southern District of New York with allegedly violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) by exporting and attempting to export military and civilian aircraft parts from the United States to Iran, including parts for an attack helicopter and components for the J85-21 military aircraft engine, which is used in Iran as a replacement engine for the F-5 fighter.

In October 2010, allegedly contacted a U.S. supplier of aircraft parts, who alerted U.S. investigators; on October 24, 2012, was arrested in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by Malaysian authorities, pursuant to a provisional arrest warrant; An Iranian citizen; 28 years old (as of November 2012).
