In 2002, exported a mass spectrometer to Iran, for use at Iran's Center for Agriculture and Medicine at Karaj; in December 2003, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) examined two undeclared mass spectrometers at the mass spectrometry laboratories at Karaj; according to Australian officials, Iran admitted that one of the spectrometers was supplied by GBC Scientific Equipment, and that it had been used by the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) program for isotope enrichment measurements; in July 2003 the Australian government denied permission to export a spectrometer to Iran, the intended end user of which was reportedly Amir Kabir University; in December 2009, the Australian government reportedly denied permission to export two atomic absorption spectrometers to Pakistan.
