Pleaded guilty in September 2001 to exporting two STX Gas Monitors to the United Arab Emirates and transhipping the monitors to Iran without the required Commerce Department license, in violation of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.

The gas monitors are controlled by the Department of Commerce because of their use in the development or production of chemical and biological weapons. The three-year investigation revealed that from September 1997 through September 1998, Pars Company Inc. had solicited several U.S. manufacturers for exporting commodities to Iran. As part of the plea agreement Pars Company, Inc. also paid a $10,000 criminal fine.
