The Sahand Aluminum Parts Industrial Company (SAPICO) was designated by the U.N. Security Council (on June 9, 2010) and by the European Union (on June 19, 2010) as a "cover name" for the Shahid Hemat Industrial Group (SHIG); identified as an alias for SHIG by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and added to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list on August 29, 2014 pursuant to Executive Order 13382, which targets weapons of mass destruction proliferators and their supporters.
