Advertises itself as the Chinese affiliate of Germany-based Limbach Flugmotoren GmbH; claims to manufacture Limbach L275 and L550 engines; other products include L1700-, L2000-, and L2400-series engines.

As recently as March 2026, sought to provide quotations and datasheets for L550 engines to Iranian end users; according to the European Union, Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine Co. is suspected of sharing the L550 engine design with entities involved in producing engines for Shahed-136 UAVs, an Iranian-designed UAV developed by Shahed Aviation Industries for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force.

Claims clients have included Chinese state-owned entities and universities that appear on the U.S. Department of Commerce's Entity List for supporting China's military.

Shares an address with Xiamen Weituo Keli Co., Ltd., a company controlled by Chen Shuixuan, a Xiamen University of Technology faculty member who has collaborated with Xiamen Limbach Aircraft Engine Co. on research related to the local production and design of aircraft piston engines.
