Provides satellite imagery and access to remote sensing technologies, including geographical information systems (GIS) and global positioning systems (GPS); involved in a GPS project for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC); also interacts with Iran's Atomic Energy Organization and Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Petroleum, police, and the Supreme National Security Council, as well as scientific and research centers at Shahid Beheshti University, Khaje Nasir Toosi University of Technology (K. N. Toosi University of Technology), and Amirkabir University of Technology, Imam Khomeini International University, Yazd University, and Islamic Azad University; has representative offices in Yazd, Kerman, Mazandaran, Mashhad, Hamedan, Qazvin, Hormozgan, South Khorasan, and Moscow; founded in 1999, after Iran's Technology Cooperation Office purchased a remote sensing station from the Russian space agency.
