Iran unveiled its first indigenous tubular centrifuge machines at a ceremony at Pasteur Drug and Vaccine Institute in Tehran on February 10. At the ceremony, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), announced plans for the production of third generation centrifuges with speeds of 80,000 cycles per minute in 6 to 7 months. Iran has declared that these centrifuges will be used to make biotechnology products.
