Wisconsin Project Executive Director Valerie Lincy was interviewed about Iran’s nuclear program on the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation’s Nukes of Hazard podcast. Valerie answered questions about the status of the Iranian program, past nuclear diplomacy, and ways to move forward in the context of decreasing transparency and heightened tensions in the Middle East. The Center’s Program Coordinator Emma Sandifer hosted the discussion, which also included Negar Mortazavi, editor and host of the Iran Podcast and Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy. The podcast was recorded in late 2024 and released on February 20.
In her responses, Valerie explains the impact of Iran’s nuclear advances on its ability to make nuclear weapons, which she argues is as acute as it has ever been despite the more moderate tone of Iran’s new president.
